58th Street Campus holds brunch to honor veteran residents

Veteran residents and residents’ spouses were honored for their service during a commemorative event.
On Thursday morning, Presby’s Inspired Life’s 58th Street Campus in Southwest Philadelphia held a commemorative brunch to recognize Veterans Day and, specifically, residents and residents’ spouses who served in the military.
After a presentation from members of the Philadelphia chapter of the U.S. Veterans’ Affairs department that detailed programs and benefits available to local veterans, residents in attendance were treated to brunch and were able to mingle with fellow residents with military ties.
The congregation then moved outside to where the campus’ American flag is located for a ceremony where each of the veteran residents from Mary Field Apartments, Greenway Apartments and Ann Thomas Apartments was recognized for their service.
“This is a wonderful celebration of those who served and aided their country,” said Mary Field resident Roy Outterbridge, a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. “It’s tremendous to get the chance to talk to other veterans here and remember our service times and experiences. We all have different experiences and it’s great to get to share those with each other.”
Presby’s Inspired Life would like to thank all of our veterans for their service and dedication to our country.
