Veteran residents were honored during a ceremony that featured live music and a virtual tour of memorials, among other things.
To commemorate Veterans Day on Friday, Rydal Park held a ceremony to honor its residents who served in the United States
Over 70 residents residents who served in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard were honored during a ceremony that featured live music, a speech from Pennsylvania State Representative Madeline Dean, a virtual Honor Flight tour courtesy of Honor Flight Philadelphia and a red-carpet entrance (lined by an audience waving American flags) to an outdoor presentation that consisted of a performance by the Mummers and thank yous from local Abington firefighters and police officers.
The virtual tour allowed the veterans to visit Arlington National Cemetery and Washington. D.C’s various war memorials via pictures and videos projected on to the big screen in the jam-packed Rydal Park auditorium.
After the virtual tour, all resident veterans were publicly acknowledged by name to crowd, which gave a roaring round of applause after each name was read aloud.
From there, the veterans walked down the American flag and crowd-lined red carpet to their seats outside for the presentation under the bright sun on a beautiful autumn morning.
On this Veterans Day, Presby’s Inspired Life would like to thank all of our veterans for their service to our country.
