Seven Upcoming Free Events at Rydal Park in February

JENKINTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA (February 9, 2015): The public is invited to attend seven free, upcoming events at Rydal Park, the non-profit, continuing care retirement community located in Abington Township, Montgomery County.
Throughout the year, Rydal Park presents stimulating programming featuring a broad range of guests and topics. The events at Rydal Park feature noted authors, politicians and experts in varying subject areas. Additionally, more events will be announced throughout the year at www.RydalPark.org.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2 – 1:30 PM:
“AUDUBON TO WARHOL: THE ART OF AMERICA STILL LIFE”
Get a close-up view of one of the largest art museums in the United States, with its collections of more than 227,000 objects that include “world-class holdings of European and American paintings, prints, drawings, and decorative arts” and visited by more than 800,000 people annually.

MY LIFE IN IRAN
Javad Mohsenian, M.D., an area psychiatrist, is coming out with a collection of short stories. Born and educated in Iran, Mohsenian has much to say about his native land and the Iranian-American experience.

THE 100TH BIRTHDAY OF THE NATIONAL PARKS PRESENTATION
To celebrate this milestone, enjoy a presentation lovingly created to review all 58 National Parks in the US Parks System. One-of-a-kind images of spectacular locals, highlighting the very nest of our nation’s parks.

“AFRICAN AMERICANS AND THE GETTYSBURG CAMPAIGN” WITH PROFESSOR JAMES PARADIS
A professor at Arcadia University, Paradis is the authority of a range of subjects, especially military ones that affected the African-American community.

AUTHOR STEPHANIE FELDMAN
The Philadelphia writer (University of Pennsylvania and then Barnard College) teaches at Arcadia University. Her debut novel, The Angel of Losses, is winner of the Crawford Fantasy Award, a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Selection, and a finalist for the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award. It was included in best-of-the-year lists from the Washington Post, Book Riot, and Locus Magazine.

The University of Pennsylvania favorite returns with another engaging, exciting historical lecture – this one about the discovery of the tomb, highlighting its unbelievable treasure trove of gold, and whether or not there are two more, undiscovered rooms hidden behind the walls of King Tut’s burial chamber.
